There’s always something new. Thrill yourself
with evidence of your own artistry! This class meets the third
Friday of each month. Join Shirley in an all-day class with a
working lunch. Beginners as well as advanced painters are invited
to share, experiment, and have fun. Shirley’s “techie” degree in
Visual Media brings another perspective to her excitement about
watercolor. Shirley provides demonstrations, hands-on work, and
one-on-one advice. You’ll need brushes, paint, and Arches Watercolor 140 lb. paper. Supplies are available for purchase at the class. Another plus, Shirley is now a certified Terry Madden instructor.

JOY of ART at CREATE-2 Thursdays A MONTH

Come enjoy an informal class with a mix of instruction, motivation and the sharing of ideas regarding painting/drawing.All types of media are welcome including oils, acrylics, watercolor, pastels, charcoal, pencils, & mixed media. JOY OF ART FLYER

Open to anyone who would enjoy;

• learning how to use a certain media,
• have discussions re: their own projects
• come together with others having similar interests in the creation and appreciation of art

            1. beginners to any level of experience
            2.  no regular attendance requirements nor obligations to the group members unless pre-arranged for a special purpose
            3.  Each will bring their own projects, supplies and equipment needed for their work
            4.  The CREATE building will be left clean and the way it is found at the beginning of the group “paint-in”.  Each member will help with clean-up

It is suggested that each participant donate $5.00 to a kitty, which will be split ($2 for the instructor, and $3 given to CREATE) to cover costs and thte use of the space at the building.  This will be optional to each individual
There will be times when an individual can volunteer to present instructions in a featured art subject.  The instructor will allow enough notice for those who wish to participate in the lesson.

In this class you will learn the basics of gourd crafting. Sherry Mays will cover slecting a gourd, cleaning, cutting, and various decorating techniques. The use of tools in gourding, coloring agents and how to create a design make this a very fun class. leave with a finished gourd. All supplies are included.
Class fee is $40 One Session

Sherry Mays will teach you how to sew! Beginning with getting to know your sewing machine. We will cover sewing machine maintenance, sewing tools, fabrics, how to use patterns and complete several projects including a garment. Field trips to fabric stores.
Class fee is $60, Six Sessions. Saturdays:March 12, 26 - April 2, 16, 30 - May 7, 2011.
